RM30 for 1 day with 4 Famous Food in Seremban. Check it out!!!

The 4 Famous Food in a row that everyone craved in Seremban which used up less than RM30 in total per day😇👌👍

1. Yi Poh Lou Shu Fen(姨婆老鼠粉)

Yi Poh Restaurant is one of Seremban's most written about food stops in social media.

It was founded in 1948 by Mr.CK Thong in Seremban. This was a family business which had been continuing from the past 3 generations. Yi Poh was started from a stall at Jalan Limbok and now it became a chain restaurant.

The restaurant now occupies two spacious shop lots, including an air conditioned section.

*Yi Poh Lou Shu Fen is bouncy and freshly made daily that comes with minced meat and Char Siew slices(叉烧肉), served with a bowl of pepper soup which only cost RM5.20 You can choose to have it with flat noodles or the famous noodles offered here. This meal just cost me RM9 with the beverage (Lemon Blackcurrant RM3.80) served.

TIPS: Add in chilli sauce if you prefer your bowl of noodles to be spicier!😈💢😈
This was Yi Poh's special chilli that will spice up your day.

2. Siew Pow Master (亚洲烧包)

After breakfast at Yi Poh Restaurant, we walked across the street to Siew Pow Master, also known as "亚洲烧包" to get some fresh bakes.

Golden crusted siew pow is what you will get here. The humble little shop might seem plain and simple, leaving one to wonder if their pows are really good.

You can find siew pow, egg tart, pineapple tart, cheese tart, almond tart, kaya puff and many types of buns. Though siew pow is one of their specialties here. All items are freshly baked every day on the premises. I love coming here and being greeted by the smell of the freshly baked items since most of the bakes were just out of the oven.

The packaging of siew pow is also beautifully attractive.

*One siew pow cost RM1.70. I bought 4 siew pow for my dinner which cost me total of RM6.80

3. Diamond Chicken Rice (钻石鸡饭)

When you think of Seremban’s delicacies usually Yi Poh Lou Shu Fen and Siew Pau are the ones that come into mind first. Never would I have expected to find a high standard Chicken Rice at Restoran Chai Hong. Restoran Chai Hong started business in 1979.

The ambiance is as authentically 'traditional kopitiam' as it gets; think round marble kopitiam tables with cheap chairs, tiled floor and walls, black electrical switches, Tiger Beer signboard and ceilings fans. I personally adore the nostalgic vibe it imparts and had no grievances about the interior.

The light brown hue of the rice indicates that it was cooked with rich chicken stock. The smell is fragrant and the taste is evidently more flavourful than the rest. They are able to cook perfect rice that is fluffy with separate grains that do not end up as a sticky mess. The rice is delicious enough to be eaten on its own. And of course the chicken tastes good as well. It’s firmed, smooth and juicy.

*I ordered an economy chicken rice set which cost me RM6 and a glass of beverage (Bali juice) which cost RM1.50

4. Maideen Cendol (珍多)

During a very hot weather, a roadside cendol vendor is a very suitable stop for you to chill your life out. It is located in the area beside Seremban Main Market, also known as 'Pasar Besar Seremban'.

Cendol is an iced sweet dessert that contains droplets of worm-like green rice flour jelly, coconut milk and palm sugar syrup. Next to the green jelly, additional toppings might be added, includes diced jackfruit, sweetened red azuki beans and durian.

*I ordered a normal bowl of cendol which cost only RM1.50

Total money spent for the foods

Throughout the day, I only spent RM 24.80 on my food.

Hope you enjoy the blog. Stay tune to see what we will be eating on the next blog. Thank you.
